About this project: Engaging Individuals with Special Needs and Disabilities through Contemporary Dance is a 12-class series of movement arts classes. Adapting ballet, modern, jazz, and Broadway dance language with yoga and gymnastics principles, we work together in nurturing and expanding upon students' capabilities -- while providing joy and human connection through the arts and public performance! These videos show the creative learning and teaching techniques we discovered together along the way in our journey these past 3 months, as well as the choreographed dance pieces that the teaching artists and students co-created. Not to be missed!

The major funders of this project are the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council’s Creative Learning Grant program, the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs (DCLA), and the New York State Council on the Arts (NYSCA). Additional general support was provided by the Marta Heflin Foundation, and by our community of donors.
